What Is Coaching?
Coaching
is a method to further develop professional acumen
and skills in order to achieve greater levels of awareness,
job performance and satisfaction. Each of us, even
in our most capable moment, can benefit from an objective
perspective and an ongoing consultation with a trusted
partner to help clarify our thoughts and actions.
A relationship with a coach provides just that.
Coach and client work together to identify and
reach goals by engaging in discussion, listening,
feedback, practices, sharing perspectives, planning
and strategizing. Coaching provides a way for clients
to deepen their awareness of their strengths and
areas for development; expand their needed skill
set; increase their business effectiveness; learn
how their behavior impacts others; and enhance their
quality of life. Coaching focuses on the future;
it facilitates the development of strategies and
action plans designed to help you achieve your professional
and personal goals
What Coaching Is Not
Coaching is not one-way advice, therapy, or counseling.
It does not delve into the past and is not meant
to address psychological conditions.
